Patients' experiences of completing patient‐reported outcomes in clinical trials: An interview study

This study aimed to gain insight into how older men diagnosed with prostate cancer experience responding ePRO about their quality of life in a clinical trial as well what motivates and demotivates them the process. Drop-outs patient-reported outcome studies are well-known challenge that influence both reliability validity trials. Furthermore, retaining people electronic (ePRO) has proven difficult. was based on qualitative semi-structured interviews 13 male patients. The were conducted between April May 2022 audio-recorded transcribed verbatim. We analysed interview inductively using Braun Clark's thematic analysis. Resulting five core themes among participants' responses: (1) frame is feasible, (2) it challenging rate one's scale, (3) increased disease insight, (4) unmet expectations emotional support, (5) from motivation demotivation. informants motivated primarily by idea helping new knowledge, but also because seen easy use access home.
